I have a student with a learning disability. According to the text, there are visual and interactive qualities that could help hold student's attention span and also increase their knowledge of a subject matter.(Robler &Doering, 2010, p.51) The usage of the ipads gives the students with learning and physical disabilities more assistance. Many students are often frustrated when it comes to academics. There are fun drill and practices that could help students become confident in a subject area that they are weak in. (Robler & Doering, 2010, p.51) Students are able to gather information from textbooks and also from other resources found on the iPad that will breakdown information, and also have fun and educational activities that will reinforce the lesson that was taught.
The usage of technology can serve as a learning, motivational, and resource tool. Teachers and students will benefit from the usage of technology inside the classroom. Technology has a great impact on teaching and learning. This integration will keep the students and engaged and enjoying learning.
The following link discusses the effects of education and how teachers can use technology to assist in delivering instruction to students. Using technology puts the students in an active role for receiving information. This makes learning more fun and interactive for all students.

How lucky to have IPads for your Pre-K students! Do you have them for your class or does your school have them for you to "check out?" We have an IPad lab at my school where you can check out a few for a certain day, and you are so right! They are a great way to keep the students motivated and to help students master certain content. I have also found with my kindergarteners that it is also a great way to improve behavior! My students seem to really work hard to "earn" time on the Ipads.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great way to save time while student share work. I like it because many students don't listen when others are presenting or sharing work but they may be willing to look at a smart board. It also allows for a sizable visual aid for students so EVERYONE can see the students work, instead of just the kids on the front row.
ReplyDeleteThis is great! And I have no doubt that this will help those students with learning disabilities. Not only do they feel "involved," but using technology will promote learning and skills that can help their development in major ways!
ReplyDeleteI too, think the ipad is a great technology tool to use with young learners. My son purchased on for his baby who is ten months old and she enjoys it. The great thing is being able to use it in the classroom to enhance learning.
ReplyDeleteI think it is wonderful that preK and students with disabilities are using ipads, they are never to you young to use technology. Hopefuly in the future more schools will incorporate ipads and laptops.
ReplyDeleteI love it that you use I pads in your pre K classroom, It would be very beneficial if most elementary schools had them.
ReplyDeleteI also teach Pre-k. I have not been able to get iPads in my classroom yet. But I plan to in the near future. As you said, the amount of information that the students could learn are endless.
